The Anti-saloon League of Port
land has decided to let the Local
Option law stand and not try any
Amendments. They will stand In
with the prohibitionists and fight all
amendments offered to the new law

Portland, Jan. 1st. Plans for the
educational department of the Ore
gon display at tho Lewis and Clark
Centeunlal have been outlined by
General Supervisor It. F. Itoblnson
and approved by the State Commis
sion. Professor ltoblnson is plan
ning a display of educational meth
ods In the Exposition state which
shall embrace the work done by
every school in tho state, and every
grade in every school. Probably so
comprehensive a display was never
before attempted for an exposition.
The stute will be organized by
countiud, each county being made un
exhibit unit, although cities that no
desiru may make separate exhibits.
The work will he nrrauged by grades,
commencing with the primary and
ending with the high school. Tills
plan will euublo visitors to under
stand tho ;ducatlonal work of the
state In the order of Its development.
Circulars on the subject will be sent
to every school in the statu. Com
positions of pupils, drawings and
paintings made by studeuts, and
photographs of school rooms, class
rooms, and pupils will be features of
tho exhibit. Several schools have
already arranged for exhibit space,
among those being tho University of
Oregon, tho Oregou Agricultural
College and the Monmouth Nonnnl
