little "Arabian" wiw terrible and
many a stout heart faltered at her

whs a noise as i.f a rushing mighty
wind. Those of the company who
had teen raised on the prairie fear
ed a blixiard. On looking 'round
the onhokers U'held a roan and yel

"He Is determined to catch the little
Arabian mnre" everyone cried.
Mr. Uenll knew the "Mastcr-of-hounds"
too well. He knew that
when intoxicated with the chase he
would never stop until something
died. The "Masters" wife was fran
tic with fear. At the iminent rink
of his nock, with possible death at
every stride Mr. Ilea 11 took a danger
ous short cut and captured the little
mare with his riata. This proceed
ing hail lieoomo necessary as her dar
ing rider rather than impede her
progress had tightly gralied her
mane, leaving the intelligent animal
to run without lines at her will.
The chase led to the X L ranch,
mid as hunting is forbidden on that
ranch the ' Master-of-hounds" called
off the dogs and gave up the chase.
Sorry we lost him. Everything was
done that could le done. Xo one is

The cluli will hunt ".regularly this
winter and good times are expected.

military engagement or nt order of

with lavnrockM, In fact the whole face
of the earth was. covered with them.
The general selected the narrowest
point across the lake and ordered
men to bring rook to the shore at
this place. The carts and wagons

brought Intorequlsltlon. They were
loaded with rock to their full capaci

lake and the rocks dumped Into tlte

foundation was made and a till was
started dlnvtly across the lake.
Men wore placed on the till as it
proceeded to keep the rock straight
and to see that they were proerly

Wo have Iktu very forviMy reminded of tlio npnlliiijj faet that
we are cttinj older. This, of itself, has eaused no loss of sleep
but it makes ns sad to contemplate each setting sun and realize
that we have added nothing to your happiness nor reaped the
enjoyment ol your closer acquaintance. We have made semi
spasmodic overtures for your trade in
General flerchandise
but nothing tangible and truly satisfying has come of it, and
we have concluded that you don't fully arprcciate the amount
of pleasure contained in our output and our unhampered ability
to make things generally agreeable for you.
Come, now, drop in and see us and let us know each other.
Sincerely yours,
