McLean, state 'veternary surgeon, came in (Sunday from Ft. Klamath where he inspected the dis ease among the slock cattle which has Itcen afflicting them since last fall. He reports it to be symptomatic anthrax, a blood poisoning disease similar to blackleg. He has sent pathological speciinens for examination to Prof. I'er not at the itate agricultural college, Corvallis. He say the disease is not contagious from animal to animal but the bacili i propagated largely by bur cards, varmints, etc., operating on the corpse carrying the disease into the water drank by the stock. He thinks the inoculation of the stock with the blackleg preventative serum will im inune them from the disease. T. W.
