Charlie Linebarger came in from the desert last week and remained a few days,. He has had charge of the Ton ningsen Itros.' sheep for the past two months. Messrs. Schminck, Vernon and Myers are tishing on Sprague River. It is not known with what success, as no fish from that camp has arrived in the market yet. George Tavis, at one time clerk at Geo. H. Ayres A Co.'s, is now entry clerk for The Rosenblatt Company, wholesale liquor dealers, Pine street, San Francisco. Fish hooks, line", poles, reels, baskets, etc., at The Monogram. 15. Gruman was in town lat Saturday for the 6rst time since November. He has been running a bunch of hheep on the desert this winter, and has suffered greatly from rheumatism. Harry Aldridge, the Summer Lake stockman, wa in Lakeview last week, and went to New Pine Creek after a load of niillstuff. He arrived here yesterday on his return trip. George Haukin", the Summer Lake wiHilgrower, has liecn spending several days in town this week. George says he ha-n't been good for anything since "Uncle .Josh" went to ' aisley. W. A. Mierlock has make a fine im provement on his resilience grounds, having sown the entire place to blue grass. The Sherhn-K home will soon be surrounded by a beautiful lawn. Miss Vada lionham, a bright young woman of Silver Lake, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. J. H. I'onham of Summer Lake, has removed to Klamath Agetry where she has accepted a position. Cashier A. McCalhoi and President V.. A. Sherwin were at Medford Tuesday looking at Wenks P.ro.s' offerings in the way of furnishings for the First National Hank of Ashland, says the Uccord. According to the Ceilarville Kecord it was a mistake published regarding the purchase of the Whitaker ranch in Sur prise valley by Hon. Peter Peterson. George C. Turner was the purchaser. I have been on the jump of late, making up for a few days' pleasant time spent with the good citizens ol your town. The machinery for the Alturas Creamery is ekected to arrive this week from Termo, and we liopw to ls able to le in running order by the tirst week in May. Vice-President T. F. Ihmaway of the N. C. O. Uailway, Ins son, W. A. I'un away, Editor Hrngg of the Heno timet te, and Mr. Cole, one of the eiUtoiud stuff of that paper, were in Alturas two days this week, and all but the latter gentle man went back to Termo Saturday. Mr. Cole will visit Surprise valley, and proln ably Lakeview, in the interest of the (iaxette and to write up the country. Mr. Ounaway is a progressive railroad man and a gentleman id the llrst rank. He expressed his regret that be was so pressed for time that he could not visit Goose Lake valley and Lakeview at this time, but tated that be would see your people on the lfith of May. The rail road manager casually remarked that creameries w ere great enterprises and always a success when properly man aged. I'nlike most railroad managers, Mr. Iiunaway is of the plain people, and the man in overalls and jumper receives a much consideration and courtesy at his hands as the "Oresned up ' man.
