Miss Alice Magilton, who is just finish ing her second rourne in dentistry at the Portland dental college, will return home in May, and take a position w ith Ir. IV inn reel. Mies Magilton was of fered a (xisition for thu summer in As toria, but desired to come home as soon as the college closes, early in May. In the college she is attending there are KX) students, live of them women. She was called into Ir. Hurler's office in Portland to do some contour work lor a young lady patient, and when the work was llnislied the doctor complimented Miss Magilton very highly on her skill. Shu will graduate next year and hang out her card as "lr Alice Magilton." Davis Creek Genlua. William McJilton has received from Mr. Hillick, a genius of Davis Creek, two watch cases made of the root of iiianzauitu. The cases are handsomely engraved inside and out and are perfect ly made. The works in the cases were ordered from 0 dealer below and were fitted iff the cases by Mr. Hillick. Mr. McJilton had the cases made, one for each of his little grandaughters, Lucille and Olive Ihiiley, with appropriate engraving inside the case. It is a beau tiful piece of work, and what a genius like Hillick wants to be fooling his time away at Davis Creek, instead of making a fortune in some big city, is past find ing out. Stockholders' Meeting at Paisley. A meeting of the stockholders of the -ako County Telephone and Telegraph Company will be held at Paisley next Monday, according to call of the in corporators. It is to be hoped that all the stockholders in I.akeview who can will attend the meeting. Those who cannot Hissibly go will bo represented by proxy however. The purpose of the meeting is to elect a board of directors, who w ill at once begin the preliminary work for the building of the line. Creditable Performance. The 'Undo Josh" performance ap pears to be highly appreciated. A gen tleman, writing from Paisley this week, says: "I have heard nothing but com plimentary comments on the production of "Uncle Josh" at this place. The performance wns a creditable one, und was heartily enjoyed by everyone here, Including myself." "Uncle Josh" will be reproduced at New Pine Creek next Saturday night, March 30th. The Post: Paisley is just now under going a quiet, inoffensive boom. Last Friday Mrs. K. C. Stickel purchased the proierty north of Dr. William's resi dence 53x300 feet, for which she paid 22o. The property lies along the river on one of the principal streets and is valuable. It will make an admirable dwelling place. V.. L. Green purchased the property owned by the Chewaucan Lumlier Co., east of Main street, along the river, just east of Mrs. J. A. Withers residence and the lot just east of it of the Saddler Keal F'.state firm. Mr. Green will build on his property as soon as he can secure material. He also has a very desirable piece of property. Mrs. Elliot bought the lot east of her residence near the churih property, for f.V). These are all important transac tions in which the new possessors have secured some excellent proerty.
