For Mill City residents,
election year is an advantage
in some ways, as they don't
have to write or drive to Al-
bany to complain to u county
commissiner. It seems this is
the only linn* that they bother
to show up in this part of the
county or know that we are a
part of Linn County Take the
county road between Linn
Blvd, and the bridge that has
l>cen torn up since lust fall in
one place or another List fall
they tore up a track which was
under the highway at the
Fourth Street intersection and
it was a mess until this sum
mcr when the county finally
came up and resurfaced this
section But one block away on
th" county road where the
railroad tracks were removed
early this summer and a tem
porary patch put on it, the
county crew didn’t even bother
to put any topping on it and
now there are holes In It that
would lose a small car if they
don’t hit the jig saw puzzle
just right. When complaints
have been made previously,
they have always said it was
because the
train
crossed
there and this caused the
damage Now there isn't any
train, or even any tracks, and
it is a worse mess than it ever
has been. So now. what do
th«?y say? “We don't have the
money to fix it right." Maybe
when the tax assessor comes
around next time he will
knock some off of our property
taxes because we don't have
enough money to pay them'
