    Camp Fire Gris
Day Camp at
Fisherman's Bend
The Willamette Council of
Camp Fire Girls is sponsoring
a Day Camp from July 16-21 at
Fishermen’s Bend park.
The Camp will be directed
by Mrs. Larry Urban and Mrs.
Randy Swigart and is open to
any girl who has completed
the 4th. 5th. and 6th grades.
She does not have to belong to
Camp Fire.
Registration fee is $5 with
insurance covered and any
girl not receiving the form
should contact Mrs Urban or
Mrs. Swigart. Camp hours will
be from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m.
A camp First-aider will be
on duty with the volunteer
counselors and assisting hoping
to bring a fulfilled and fun-
filled time to the campers
• Some of the activities will
include crafts, songs, sports
and if possible a trail ride and
bike “hike.”
Registration forms should be
turned in by July 1.

Longfellows Celebrate
25th Anniversary
MEHAMA — A surprise re­
ception was held at the Me­
hama Club Hall Sunday after­
noon, June 17 from 2:00 to 4:00
p.m. celebrating the 25th wed­
ding anniversary of Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Longfellow. The
Longfellows were married
May 29, 1948 at Vancouver,
Wash. and have lived in this
area most of the time since.
The party was arranged by the
couples’ sons and their wives.

sent Marilyn Assembly -60,
during the 47th annual session
of grand assembly, Internation­
al Order of Rainbow for Girls.
It will be held on the Oregon
State University campus in
Corvallis June 21-23.
Patty has served as grand
outer observer during the past
year. She was appointed and
installed last June. She will
be one of the twenty officers
performing the ritual work of
rainbow under the direction of
Hazel Graham, supreme in
Oregon and supreme service.
This is the finale of Patty’s
year. During the past year she
has represented Oregon rain­
bow in Kansas and California.
She has visited throughout the
state taking girls from Mar
ilyn Assembly with her. The
goal of the grand assembly this
year was to encourage friend­
ship through visiting other as­
semblies. To encourage this
further. Patty donated a stuf­
fed dog to the assembly. It
goes to the girl who has made
the most visits since the last
meeting. Patty Spurgeon, Sue
McClintock, Corliss Archer,
Lynette Hughes, and Jackie
Wilson have received the dog
for traveling. Currently, Patty
is serving as nature in her as­
sembly.
There are seven girls going
from Marilyn Assembly. They
are Corliss Archer, Lynette
