State police said Robert Lee Fox. of 690 Arleta Place NE, died about 5 p. m. when he was apparently pulled under by the whirlpool from the falls. ■Witnesses told police Fox and two friends were attemp ting to swim across a deep pool at the bottom of the falls when one of the swimmers called for help. They said Fox went to help but was pulled under. The body was recover ed a short time later, police said. The body was taken to Rig don’s mortuary.
