Saturday’s lunch was sup plied by the Jaycettes and the Lions Club Auxiliary. Sundays lunch was furnished by Stew art’s Grocery, Girod’s Hilltop Grocery, Mill City Drug Store, Hirte’s Lockers, Mill City Hardware, Rose’s Hard ware, Mill City Enterprise and Mrs. Margaret Snow. The Park Committee, the City Council and the people of Mill City are appreciative and grateful for the efforts of the Seabees in bringing the park to closer completion. In preparation for the ar rival of the Seabees, Boy Scouts Mark Peterman, Allen Megargel. Jim Olsen and Clin ton Luke, carried rock and helped shore the drainage ditch at the west end of the park. These boys will return to complete the project at a later date. The Explorer Scouts, Jim Crowther, Doug Gruver, Steve Hale, Floyd Peterman and Bob Tippett cleared the brush in preparation for the footpath along the river. On the 8th of June Kurt Kline, C. Bruder and George Gunter helped plant the bush es and shrubs the Mill City School donated. Volunteer Firemen Teddy Ficker and Don Hutchinson assisted by water ing the newly planted shrubs. Everyone is invited to come and view the progress which has been made thus far. According to relatives Mrs. Sig Jepsen, former long time resident here but now a resi dent of Stayton, is making a satisfactory recovery at the Salem Convalescent Center, 875 Oak S. E.. in Salem after undergoing surgery on her hip a number of weeks ago. At present she is being helped to go up and down steps, and has been using a walker. Dick Blakely announced that work on the float would begin July 1st, and there will be a work party at the park kitchen on the night of July 3, to get things in readiness for the July 4th celebration.
