She received one of almost every color and shape made. After opening the gifts and the group singing “Happy Birthday,*’ Mrs. Lyness served coffee and hot sweet rolls. Discuss Kiddie Parade At Jayceette Meeting Mrs. Rodney Syverson was hostess for the Thursday even ing. June 15, meeting of the Mill City Jayceettes. There were five members present. Plans were discussed for July 4th Kiddies Parade. The entry fee will be ten cents and cracker jacks will be giv en to each parade entrant. It was announced the Jay ceettes would be sending food, along with the Lions Auxiliary, to feed the Seabees Saturday who would be working at the new City Park. The next meeting of the group will be June 29 at the home of Mrs. Jack Bain at 7:30 p. m. Communion Service Set for Sunday at Presbyterian Church It was announced during Sunday morning services at the Presbyterian church by Rev. Luther Kurtz that the Communion Service will be observed Sunday, June 25. Special guests of Rev. and Mrs. Kurtz last Sunday i n eluded his sister. Mildred Erl- ler, of Vista, Ca.. which is in the San Diego area, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Gardener, friends from Woodburn Estates. Oth ers present at the Sunday morning service were Mr and Mrs. Ed Patterson, active Pres byterians. who usually spend a part of the summer months at Santiam Lodge. An additional announcement stated that Clair and Ruth Denman of Guadalajara, Mex ico, well known missionaries who have been sponsored by the local church in the past and who have visited here sev eral times, will be luncheon guests of the membership on Sunday, July 16, and it is hop- ed that everyone interested will keep that date open.____ Community Calendar of Events Thursday, .lune 22— IOOF Lodge # 144 meets at lodge hall at 8 p. m.
