Selling Candy | Roy Eppersons Are Back from Alaska Mr. and Mrs. Roy Epperson returned last week from a 10- day trip to Anchorage, Alaska, where they visited their elder son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Epperson. They were ; accompanied on the flight by ' their other son, Charles Ep person of Salem. It was reported as very cold with some ice and snow, but the weather was beautiful most of the time, and the Ep persons enjoyed the plane trip both ways. Kenneth is an air craft mechanic with the Alas ka Aero Service at Lake Hood, and his wife, Barbara, is an in terior decorator connected with craft design at a store which specializes in Scandan- avian draperies and all sorts of imports. The visitors enjoyed a trip through Palmer and out to the Matanuska Valley as well as one to the Portage Glacier and toward Seward. They saw the mountain sheep, and were also interested in watching people fish through the ice. The younger Eppersons had tried their hand at panning for gold during the Summer and early Fall, with some small success, but when the visiting relatives drove out to the Little Susit na River they found it frozen along the edge so thought bet ter of the idea. They witnessed the first snowstorm of the season, which deposited about four or five inches of snow on the ground by the time they left, but the sun was out In termittently. The Eppersons found that most things seemed quite ex pensive in Alaska, but many people have their own air planes, as do Kenneth and Barbara. They decided they would like to make a return trip sometime during the Sum mer months. Charles Epperson and Da vid Johnson, also formerly of Mill City, live in West Salem where they are employed.
