3—The Mill City Enterprise, Thursday, June 17, 1971 Notice Of Budget Hearing The budget for the City of Gates for the fiscal year 1971-1972, Beginning July 1, 1971, as detailed and summarized In the accompanying schedules was prepared on an accounting basis consistent with that used in prior years. Major changes, if any and their effects on this budget are set forth in an accompany mg statement. A copy of the budget document may be inspected by interested persons between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 noon at City Hall. The budget document, or any portion of it, may be obtained for $2.50 complete, or 25c, per sheet at City Hall. A meeting of the City Council will be held at June 24, 1971, at 7:30 p. m. at City Hall, Gates, Oregon for the purpose of holding a public hearing on this budget. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oliver for a week are Mr. and Mrs. Don Hare and son, Donavan, from Grand Ra pids, Minn. Mrs. Hare is the sister of Mrs. Oliver. Also here for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Cline and new daughter, Tamra, of The Dal les. Mrs. Cline is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver and Tamra is their first grandchild. Karen Oliver is home from her first year at OSU and will be here for the summer. Overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Oliver were their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Oliver of Sher wood, Ore. Other guests this week were a daughter, Mrs. Terry Muir of Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hare and son of Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Den nis Cline of The Dalles. Elza J. Oliver, a brother of Clyde Oliver, passed away this week at Falls City, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver attended services there on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Louchs accompanied by Mrs. Clyde Oliver. Mrs. Mary Stafford and Mrs. Martha Ragsdale of Mill City attended the WWI con vention at the Marion Hotetl in Salem last Thursday. They drove on up the canyon for a look at Detroit Dam and up the Breitenbush. New property owners in town are Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Murrill of Moss Beach. Calif. They have just spent the past two weeks here clearing brush off their lots and planting some shrubs. On retiring at a future date, they plan on making Gates their permanent home.
