For The Whole Family Oregon’s mileage death ratf- for 1970 continues at its low est level in history, despite high traffic death tolls in two of the three months during the third quarter of the year. The Motor Vehicles Division says the state’es death rate— number of people killed in each 100 million miles traveled —for the first nine months of the year was 5.05, compared with 5.17 for the same period last year. The death rate for the third quarter of the year (July-Sep tember) was 4.96 and would have been even lower except for a September toll of 80 deaths—the highest monthly toll in the state’s history, ac cording to the Division. The Charles Kellys attended the annual banquet and Christ mas party of the Tri-Oounty Postmasters Saturday evening at a Salem restaurant. A gift exchange was held following the dinner.
