The following letter has been
received from the Marion Co.
Department of Health.
Subject: Vapona Pesticide
strips prohibited:
We received a memo from
the U. S. Public Health Service,
dated April 28, 1970, regarding
the Vapona Pesticide Strips.
I These devices were covered in
an earlier memo dated Febru-
I ary 1, 1968, relating to automat-
. ic or continuous dispensing of
| insecticides in food establish-
, ments and milk houses. The
most recent memo states that
I the Vapona Strips are not to
be used in kitchens, restaur
ants, where food is prepared or
served.
You will note the warning
on the Vapona Strip label—Do
not contaminate food or water.
Recet data shows that under
favorable conditions residues
of DDVP in exposed prepared
foods will range up to 0.5 ppm. .
Under the provisions of the 1
April. 1970, U. S. Public Health
Service memo, no automatic or
continuous dispensing devices
are to be used in food estab
lishments and milk houses nor
are the DDVP (Vapona Pesti
cide Strips) to be used.

When driving on express

i can get in the proper exit lane
in advance. If you muss your
exit, don't stop, or slow down:
go on to the next exit. De
crease speed rapidly once you

but not when leaving the ex
pressway.
When passing a pedestrian in
the street, motorists should
slow down and give him room.
If the pedestrian is crowded by
a car, he can easily become
confused and step into the
path of an approaching vehicle.
