A s’eek 78 series tire with a new shape, new construction, new tread, and a host of important design improve ments. 100% MORE MILEAGE THAN NEW CAR 2-PLY TIRES . . . And more traction. And better handling. And greater safety. And nothing short of outstanding total performance. Tests of complete sets of tires for 1969 cars prove it. POLYESTER CORD BODY, TWO FIBERGLASS BELTS Most of the extra mileage comes from the way the 2 PLUS 2 tire is built—with two plies of tough Vicron polyester cord material, and two belts of fiberglass just under the tread. We call these belts “tread-Savers.” They hold the tread firm, reduce wiggle and squirm of the tread on the road. The rubber scuffs Jess, so it lasts longer. Twice as long—to double-tread mileage.
