A recent visitor at the Dick Parker home has been his mo ther, Mrs. Edna Hutcheson, of the San Francisco Bay area. Dick, who had suffered a heart attack, returned to Santiam Memorial Hospital for a check up, but returned home Sunday. Mrs. Karl Wenger ot Salem Mrs. Ron Cotrell Dinner guests Tuesday even ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Cree were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Phillips, Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McMorris and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cree. The Phillip’s and McMorris’s were celebrating their wedding anniversaries. Mr. and Mrs. Donovan Mof fatt took her mother, Mrs. Vee Golden to Portland Saturday forenoon where she took a bus to Phoenix to visit at the home of Alene Boyd. Sunday visi tors at the Moffatt home were her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bisbee of Portland. A recent item in a Salem newspaper stated that Dick Posekany of Frank Lumber Company has been elected president of the Clackamas- Marion County Forest Protec tive Association. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kel ly attended an outstanding per formance of “My Fair Lady,” presented by South Salem High School in the Leslie Jr. High Auditorium Friday even ing. While accompanying Sal em Postmaster and his wife, the Ed Spencers, for a bite to eat after the show, the Kellys left their car in the school parking lot and upon their re turn to pick it up, found it had bene broken into. The "wing” on the driver’s side had been broken into. The window rolled down, but some items of clothing in the car were untouched. Mrs. George Loveall was hospitalized last week at Salem Memorial undergoing treat ment for an ulcer. Mr. and Mrs. Don Moffatt were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Lora Mason in Salem Other afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mackie of Bonneville, and their son, and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mackie. The young Mackies both attend Linfield college at McMinnvil le, where he is a junior in physics. He has been selected to be student researcher on a basic research program from I>ewis Reasearch Center, Na. tional Aeronautics and Space Administration. The Mackies are former residents of Mill City, when he was project manager at Detroit Dam. Also calling on Mrs. Mason were Mr. and Mrs. Art Hempeck and two children from Sweet Home They, too, are former Mill City residents, when he was employ ed at the dam. Mareielle Mill City Woman Ware and John Mrs. LaDonna Crowfoot, Mill City received a severe shaking up and many cuts and abra sions when her car went off the road near the Silver Falls Junction on Highway 22 Fri day. She was taken to a Salem hospital for emergency treat ment, and returne<1 to her home here Saturday. Mrs. Crowfoot said she had reached for her purse, and at the same time, glanced at the instrument panel jf her car, as the motor had been over heating. Some small animal crossed the road in front of her, and she swerved to miss it. In the process she over steered her vehicle causing it to overturn into the ditch. She said her car was a total wreck, and that she esnsidered herself lucky to come out of the accident without more seri ous injury.
