Wasn’t this past weekend a
dandy? There was a continu­
ous roar of lawn mowers as
residents made an attempt to
get caught up on getting the
grass under contrzl. This was
the first real nice warm week­
end for a long time. The temp­
erature got into the low 80s on
Sunday. Monday is overcast,
but it still is a pretty nice day,
everything considered. Mon­
days are always lousy as far
as I am concerned, as it is
hard to get back into the sad­
dle after a day off.

Nineteen Seniors and Juniors were inducted into
the Santiam Chapter of the National Honor Society,
Monday, May 4.
Inductees were Seniors, Doug Cline and Karen Ol­
son; Juniors LaDonna Stafford, Herbert Carpenter, Su­
san Crowther, Barbara Etzel, Jacalyn Evans, Tobin
Fencl, Twyla Fultz, Kim Gabriel, Ken Goforth, Linda
Hampton, Peter Hawley, Penny Lewellen, Michael Mof­
fatt, Sandra Oliver, Leo Poole, Richard Posekany and
Rebecca Willson.
Those who were inducted must have maintained a
3.00 G.P.A. and showed qualities of character, leader­
ship and service. The induction was held before the
student body and parents of the new Honor Society
Members.

highest number of votes for a
five-year term on the board of
education here Monday. A

close, and showed considerable
interest by residents here,
Krecklow received 70 votes, in-
