And when I asked how come my bill is larger, Mother said it’s because we use so much more electricity to run all the appliances we have now. Why, I must have more than twice as many electric appliances as Mother had when she was my age! And I use them more at this time of year when days are shorter and the weather is colder. Mother says when you add it up, only electricity does so much for so little. I guess Mother isn’t so old-fashioned after all. At least where bargains are concerned!
