GATES—Mr. and Mrs. Ross Cutsforth of Gervais were honored on their 55th wedding anniversary with a family din ner party in Salem Sunday. December 7. Their sons and daughters and their families enjoyed the Emerald celebra tion. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gael Cutsforth and Lynn; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hood, Merle and Melinda, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cutsforth, Elaine, Diane, Joan and Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Cutsforth, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Chrz, Jody and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Chrz. Mr. and Mrs. Gael Cutsforth are from Gates while the others are all from the Gervais area. Mrs. Albert Reiling of Woodburn, Ross Cutsforths’ sister, also was present. Marilyn Chapter No. 145 held the December meeting at the IOOF hall Monday even ing with Mrs. Veryl Hoover. Worthy Matron presiding. Mrs. Cal Culbertson and son, Tim, provided music for the Christmas program. Mrs. Walter Brisbin played “O. Holy Night” as a piano solo. Mrs. Nettie Hedlund resign ed as associate conductress. Election of a replacement will be held at the January meeting. The Worthy Matron appoint ed the following members of the Eastern Star to serve on the Rainbow Advisory Board for 1970: Mrs. Lowell Cree, Mrs. William Lyness, Mrs. Ervin Peterson. Mrs. Al Yan kus and Ervin Peterson. Marilyn Club was announc ed for Tuesday, December 16 at the home of Mrs. Lowell Cree with Mrs. Veryl Hoover as co-hostess. A covered dish luncheon will be served at 12 o'clock. Following the meeting re freshments were served in the dining room which was decor ated for the Christmas party and gift exchange which fol lowed. Serving on the refresh ment committee were Mrs. Ce cil Lake, chairman, Mrs. Er vin Peterson, Mrs. Charlie French and Mrs. Lowell Cree. Following the wedding a re ception was held in the church parlors. Cutting and serving the cake was Mrs. Richard Rice and serving at the punch bowl was Mrs. Russell Rice both sisters-in-law of the groom. Nancy Morely was in charge of the guest book. For going away the new Mrs. Sophy chose a one piece wool dress with white accessories. Fol lowing a short honeymoon the couple will make their home in Salem.
