4—The Mill City Enterprise, Thursday, Nov. 6, 1969 Detroit Ranger Dist. letters To Plant Seedlings j TO THE NOTICE DETROIT — Forester Tom I-evering, Detroit Ranger sta tion said Monday a contract was let to A. C. Forestation, Salem, for the planting of some 830 acres of tree seed lings in the Detroit District. He said to date about 50 per cent of the project has been completed. The annual contracted fall tree planting program called for the hand planting of seed lings in areas where timber had been harvested and in sev eral burned off areas. In addition some 80 acres are scheduled to be planted by Forest Service crews on the district. Levering said this project is progressing nicely and if the weather holds good the program will be completed this fall. He said 107 acres of aerial seeding was completed recent ly by Evergreen Helicopter of McMinnville. Earl Lady was the pilot. THE MILL CITY ENTERPRISE P. O.
