Especially on such silly grounds. Every grocery store in town sells beer and wine, besides we have a liquor store and many taverns. Where do these people do their shop ping? Most stores in Oregon have beer and wine. J enjoy the smallness of the town and would like to work here instead of driving to Sal em or Stayton and a little growth might make this pos sible. With a lack of progress, the town will die Some years back, when I wanted to start a paint store, I had to fight to find a building and one was torn down, rather than let me rent it. When I had money down on the old theater building and wanted to remodel for a paint store and offices, I was discouraged by the bank. Nothing like that needed in Mill City. When there was a chance of business coming to Stayton, the local merchants put up money to help get things mov ing in Stayton. They must see the need for progress.
