Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hadden are now located in the Menlo Park area in California where he is an insurance salesman. She is the former Jeannie Kel ly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kelly. The Haddens were in Germany for two years while he was serving in the army. They have visited here twice since their return from Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Bill I.yness were in LaCenter, Wn., re cently where they attended the 20th anniversary of her high school class reunion. She said they had a wonderful time visiting with classmates and former teachers. Mrs. Lyness said her first grade teacher was there and looked surpris ingly like she did many years ago. They visited with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Moore of Port Townsend, Wn, enroute home. Rev. and Mrs. James Murray and children accompanied by Charles Rice had a relaxing va cation at Meacham last week. The Cali fornians were taken on several sight-seeing trips while they were here, and they remarked they would like to move here when they retire. Mrs. Byron Davis, who lives ne ar the site of the Gates Air port said this week that a pigeon, not a plane, had land ed there the past week. She said the bird had hands of yel low and red on its legs and she was quite sure the owner would like to know where it was. They may contact her at 897-2197. The Detroit home of Mrs. Verna Ketchum was the set ting Monday afternoon for a surprise birthday reception honoring Mrs. Shirley Hill Traditional birthday cake and coffee were served to the hon ored guest. The Idanha home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wilkerson will be the scene Thursday for the annual Pot-luck picnic for per sonnel of Detroit school. Susan Bethel Honored At Bridal Shower Mrs. James Murray honored Miss Susan Bethel with a bri dal shower Monday evening at her home. She will become the bride of Clifford Warde at the Presbyterian Church Fri day, August 29. Appropriate games w e r e played with Mrs. Charles Gold en and Mrs. Beverly Broach winning prizes. A clever poem hatl been written for Miss Be thel and as she read it she was to find her hidden gifts. The serving table was at tractively decorated with satin flowers and matching tapers with a black light shining in them to create an outstanding arrangement.
