Turtle Race Winners ¡¡Three Timber i Mr. and Mm. Pete Adair en Mr. and Mi's. Dave Warde and family spent the 4th of July holiday visiting with rel atives i.i Portland. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lund quist have been their son and family from California. Mr. and Mm. Rocky Moore spent the holiday visiting with friends and relatives in Brem erton. They took their camp er and enjoyed a stay in a private park in that area. A new feature at the 4th of July celebration this year were the turtle races held on Allen Field. Largest of the three is the Outerson timber sale with an estimated 5.700,000 board feet of timber located approximate- ly 12 miles east of Detr it. The sale involves 2,200,000 board feet of Douglas fir logs and peeler blocks advertised at $82.50 per thousand, an lines- timat3d amount of Douglas-fir special cull logs and peeler blocks at $4.70 and 3.500,000 board feet f Western hemlock and ether coniferous species logs at $59.30 per thousand. Douglas-fir a n d Douglas-fir special cull logs and blocks will be sold at fixed rates. Within the sale area there is an estimated 162 acres of all species logs substandard be cause of defect or size which the bidder may elect to pur chase (optional) at the adver tised rate of $2.50 i>er acre if included in the sale. East Humbug No. 3, with an estimated 5,100,000 board feet of federal timber is locat- ed approximately nine miles north of Detroit. This tract of timber includes 3,620,000 board feet of Douglas- fir logs and blocks advertised at $76.90 per thousand, an un estimated amount of Dougkis- fir special cull logs and blocks at $4.35 and 1,48$,000 hoard feet of Western-hemlock and other coniferous species 1 gs at $53.30 per thousand. Douglas-fir and special cull logs and blocks, and Western-hemlock and oth er coniferous species will lie sold at fixed rates. Tn addition there is within the sale area an estimated 177 acres of all species of substand ard lags (defect or size) which the bidder may choose to pur chase (optional) at the adver tised rate of $2.50 per acre if included in the sale.
