Summer d es not officially
arrive until Saturday, but with
the temperature in the 90’s the
list two days dates don’t mean
a thing. After our long, snowy
winter we shouldn’t complain
about <i little heat—but guess
it’s human nature.
We got our fall and winter
“Wish look” on Monday and
think that is really what hur
ried the seas n along. That’s
like getting the spring sale
book the day after Christmas—
after buying all those expen
sive winter items. Of course
with the kids in the strawberry
fields and canneries, they are
starting to think aliout what
to buy with their money—and
wherever they purchase their
i
clothes, etc—most of them at
least lock at the catalogs.
Our Boss is certainly getting
out of a lot of work around
here—he couldn’t possibly have
planned it that way ? ? ? ?
With our Salem section last
week, 4th of July busy time
and the start of our subscrip
tion campaign this week—we
in the print shop just wave in
hurrying from one spot to the
other.
By the way’—we are having
a lot of youngsters that will
lie out hustling to get sub
scriptions to The Enterprise,
both new and renewal—and
even though you are “paid up’’
it will help them for you to
get on the list for another
year—besides with all the ris
ing costs, who knows what
next year will bring.
Don’t forget the Queen's
coronation this Friday—start
ing at the Grade school gym
at 7:30. The 4th of July prin
cesses have put a lot of time
and effort in getting ready for
their appearance and talent
numbers. It is a lot of fun (to
me) to watch these young peo
ple and I am always amazed
at the really good performance
they put on. Many of them
will say, “Oh. I don’t know
how to do anything”, but they
manage to find some perhaps
hidden talent and provide a
good evenings entertainment
as well as a crown for the
lucky one. But win or lose—
none of them really LOSE as
it helps give each and every
one confidence in themselves—
which is important.
