This being Sunday we decided not to travel. This weekend the Canadians are having a holiday in honor of their Queen. Here in Canada they are doing much the same as we in the United States. They are changing some of the.r holidays around so they, too, can have long weekends. I think it’s a lot of bunk, as in the newspaper business Monday is one of our busy days, and we depend upon our mail service to get part of our news copy. That is beside the point, it does give a lot of big city folks a chance to get out into the country to enjoy a long weekend. It also gives motorists a better chance to kill one another. We are camped this week end on Lake Kamloops. Their lakes in this region are not very wide but are real long. The weather is perfect. The sun is hot, but the breeze is real cool. I hope we have this type of weather on the entire trip, but that is too much to expect. We ran, into trouble the first day out. We went as far as the lver Eides in Tacoma, where we spent the first night. .Just as we pulled over to the exit lane to get off the freeway, 1 failed to signal far enough ahead and a lady driver darn Miss Patricia (Trish) Moore, daughter of Mr. ed near tipped over passing and Mrs. Pat Moore and a senior next year at San- us on the right hand side. tiam High school was crowned Friday evening as Guess what. The Memorial Day river run will start a Pack Saddle Park Voters Urged to Cast Ballots Early On June 3 Special Election Linn County Clerk, Don Pen fold, today issued a request to voters that they not only vote, but VOTE EARLY in the June 3rd Election. This request is prompted by the consolidation into voting blocks of at least three of the usual voting precincts thereby reducing the number of voting places from 103 to 26. Penfold stated, “it will only take a moment to mark the ballot because there is only one item which is a yes or no choice, however, if there is to be congestion at the polling places, it will probably occur between five and eight o’clock p.m.” The cooperation cf all elec tors in voting at their earliest opportunity would be greatly appreciated. $4.00 a YEAR — 10c a Copy Lucky Logger east of Gates at 10 A.
