The bride elect is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Clegg < f St. Helens. Mr. Hum phreys is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George B. Humphreys of Portland, former area resi dents. Miss Clegg was graduated from St. Helens high school in 1968 and is employed in Port land. Her fiance graduated from Santiam High school with the class of 1964. He served a tour of duty in the U. S. Navy and is currently employed by a Portland firm. The couple plan a May 29 wedding. Coming home from Sal em the other evening at late dusk we narrowly missed hit ting a kid on a bike. A few seconds later a car from the other direction did hit him, knocking him to the pavement.
