against rubbish being tossed
out of vehicles, but who ever
reports the offenders. In my
opinion the State ought to
make John Q. Public the
watch dog. Why not offer a re
ward for every license number
turned in for the offense. This
should spark more interest,
and the result might save the |
state some money in the long
run. Coupled with the fine the j
offender should have to clean
up about five miles of clutter
ed highway, and you can bet
your bottom dollar he won’t
do it again, and it might serve
as a warning to the rest of the
litter bugs.
And while we are on the I
subject, the Upper North San
tiam Canyon will again soon
come in for its share of litter
as vacation season nears. While
the majority of the people can
tion, there are always those
few who seem to delight in
leaving a trail of litter behind
them.
