A spokesman at the Park said Monday all camping sites are now open with the exception of about six which they hoped to have in readiness by this week-end. Spring Tree Planting Application Now Available Game from Siletz DETROIT—Gerald Hiebert allowed five hits and Jay Har vey smashed a homer, triple and single to lead host Detroit past Siletz 11-1 in a Marion B League baseball action here Thursday. Detroit is the loop leader with a 3-0 record. Siletz is second with 1-1 and Falls City 0-2. Detroit used two big innings to whip the visitors. The game was stopped after four innings because of the ten-run margin. Host Dayton pushed over four runs in the first inning to lead the way to a 5-1 rain- shortened baseball game over Detroit Monday. The non-loop mix was called after five in nings. Keith Wells had two hits in as many trips to the plate for the winners. On April 17th Detroit will host Falls City at 3:00 P. M. and Regis here April 22nd at 1:00 P. M. On the 24th Eddy ville here and Siletz there on the 28th. Both games are scheduled for 3:00 P. M. Young People Meet At Whiteley Home IDANHA—The home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Whiteley was the setting late Sunday after noon when the “Young People” met. Program of the evening was “Diving for Pearls in Gods Word.” It was agreed by those pre sent that the group would fix up the yard, which will in clude the sowing of grass and the planting of shrubs, at a home in Idanha, preparatory to the residency of a new min ister for the Idanha Commun ity Church. Mrs. Whiteley, who has been one of the groups’ coun selors will not be able to aid in that capacity during the summer due to business obli gations. However, the group will con tinue to meet each Sunday un til school is out under the supervision of counselor Hen- ry Hiebert. Following the meeting refreshments were served to the group by their hostess Mrs. Whiteley. Idanha Church Needs Permanent Minister IDANHA—Rev. Robert Was son of Forest Grove is now conducting services at the Id anha Community Church un til a permanent minister can be found to fill the post. Rev. Wasson, a retired min ister, was sent here by the Village Mission who furnishes ministers whenever and where- ever needed. Before his retire ment Rev. Wasson conducted sen ices at Cannon Beach. Dur ing his pastorate however he served in churches in various parts of the country. Rev. Harold Roth who has conducted services at the Id anha Community Church for the past 10’4 years resigned in January but continued to sene through Easter Sunday. His fu ture plans are indefinate at this time. Talent Show at Detroit Is Huge Success DETROIT—Detroits Talent Show Saturday night was a howling success with some 200 people in attendance. The annual event sponsored by the Deanha Parent Teach ers Club in a Scholarship drive netted $306.00. Mrs. Arthur Whiteley, president of the club said Monday that both the tal ent and the attendance, includ ing the money raised, surpas sed all of the proceeding shows. She aid donations to the scholarship drive are still com ing in and that it will probably lie a little while yet before a full report can be made on the program.
