There was a car accident on
Sunday at 6:15 p. m. in front
of the Travelers Cafe on High­
way 22 in Gates. Involved in
the accident were the driver
Sylvester L. Silbernagel, and
his wife Mrs. Silbernagel, Rt.
1, SciJ, in a 1964 Chev. In the
other
car, the driver was Ed-

gar Hoard, with wife and two
children, 260 12th Street, Sal-
em, driving a ’53 Chev. No
one was seriously injured.
Hoard was cited for failure to
drive on the right side of the
road.

had tonsilectomies at Santiam
I Memorial hospital last Thurs-
day. They are the children of

brother, Joe Gestson passed

visited with Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Henness and family in Beaver­
ton from Sunday until Tuesday
Terry spent the rest of the
week in Gates with her Grand­
mother, Lola Henness. Glenn
Henness came home on Friday
and spent the week-end. as he
is still working at the coast
during the week. Mr. and Mrs.
Keith Henness came on Sun­
day and picked up their daugh­
ter Terry to take her back
home to Albany with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wilson
of Eugene spent their spring
vacation from college at the
home of Ronald’s grandpar­
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wil­
son last week. They visited
Mrs. Harold Wilson’s sister,
Ruth Flint, at the Salem Me­
morial Hospital on Sunday.
On the return trip home they
stopped to visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Donald Carey and fam­
ily in Stayton.
Mr. and Mrs. Clare Henness
and children Gary and Susan
picked up Kandee at Oregon
State in Corvallis last Wednes­
day, from there they went to
Waldport where they stayed
until Friday. They reported

Mrs. Lang Stafford was vis­

her sister Hazel Devine and
other relatives also while in
