Students from Hawaii Melva Sarff Marries Enjoy Snow Here MEHAMA—Two Hawaiian Pat O'Neil Recently students, Sharia Shinyama and The Seventh Day adventist church at S. W. Ivy street in Mill City was the setting far the December 28 wedding of Pat O’Neil and Melva Sarff at 6 o’clock in the evening. Pastor Robert G. Letcher united the couple in marriage and pianoist was Mrs. Orval Homer who also sang “At Dawning.” She was accompan ied by Miss Stavengui, teach er at the school Best man for the occasion was William Ray, who is in the service and maid of honor was Carolyn Kenline of Mill City. Flower girl was Barbara Kenline and Bible boy, carry ing a white Bible, Was David Johnsori of Gates. The bride was gowned in pale pink lace and she had a white carnation corsage. She was given in marriage by John Kenline. Attending from Albany were the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kobow from Albany. The groom is on a three week’s leave from the Marine base at Camp Pendleton and the couple will be returning there soon. Joyce Toba spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Coles and daughter, Brenda, Both girls are freshmen at OCE in Monmouth, and are majoring in elementary edu cation. They are from the is land of Maul, which is the se cond largest in area and the third largest in population In Hawaii. Miss Shinyama lives in the town of Wailuku and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shinyama, who are part owners of Valley Isle Ex press. Miss Toba is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ichire Toba, who live In Kahului, which Is on the coast of Maui. Mr. Toba is a licensed land surveyor for the county. 'the girls ehjoyed their vaca tion here very much, particu larly the opportunity to play in the snow which was an en tirely new experience for them. Assisting were Mrs. Dale Crandall and Mrs. Leonard Waller. Miss Bonnie Christiansen was in charge of the guest book and the gifts were re ceived by Jo Lee Benson. An interesting sidelight fol lowing the wedding was the ride from the Church to the hall, where the reception was held, by the young couple in Mrs. Golliet’s 1932 Victoria Chevrolet.
