St Patrick Catholic club was held last Friday at the home of Mrs. Marshall Blackburn with Mrs. Henry Holzfuss as co-hostess. Secret pal named were revealed and new names drawn. Installation of officers will be held at the January meeting. To be installed are Mrs. Leland Manning, president; Mrs. Mar shall Blackburn, vice president; Mrs. Mike Schwlndt, secretary, and Mrs. Florent Frichti, treas urer. Goldie Rambo, Woman's Page Editor, Phone 897-2772 Garden Club Meets At Cree Home for Christmas Party The Mill City Garden Club met December 19 at the home of Mrs. Lowell Cree for the Annual Christmas party. A Christmas dessert was served at one o’clock with the tables centered with red and green candle holders containing bay berry candles. The hostesses, Mrs. Clyde Phillips, Mrs. Hol lis Turnidge and Mrs. Cree all wearing Christmas red dresses. Places for the guests were marked with candle favors. Mrs. Walter Thomas, presi dent, presided at the business meeting. Roll call was answer ed by the members naming their favorite Christmas tree. Mrs. Clyde Phillips received the door prize, a poinsettia plant from the club. Mrs. Thomas installed the 1969 officers, Mrs. Clyde Phil lips, President; Mrs. Ross Mc Combs, Vice President; Mrs. Wendell Heller, Secretary and Mrs. Else Allen, Treasurer. In place of the usual gift exchange among the members each brought a toy which was donated to the Jaycees foi their “Toys for Tots”, project. The January meeting will be on the second Thursday of the month, January 9 at the home of Mrs. Clyde Phillips with Mrs. Ross McCombs as co-hostess. Present were Mrs. Ross Mc Combs, Mrs. Wendell Heller, Mrs. Floyd Fleetwood, Mrs. Charles Dolezal, Jr. Mrs. K|enneth Coming, Mrs. Else Allen, Mrs. Walter Thom as, Mrs. Charlie French and the hostesses, Mrs. Turnidge, Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Cree. Following the music Paul Schiewek showed colored slides of the Holy land. A Christmas gift was given to Earl Loucks, director of the orchestra. A new member, Mrs. Earlene Wright, joined the group and will play the clarinet. After a short wedding trip to the coast the new Mr. and Mrs. John Phillips visited relatives in Lyons and Oregon City and then left for their new home at Los Alamos, New Mexico where Mr. Phillips is employed at the scientific lab oratory. Organist was Jeanne Zimmerman. The Nativity scene was pantomimed by the Sunday school children, with Mrs. Harold Hawthorne, nar rator. Children in the cast were Mary by Jodene Lincteey; Jo seph. Gary Scott; Angel, Shar on Roy; shepherds, Calvin Good and Terry Scott; wise men. Jerry Scott. Randy Lind sey and Curtis Good: singers. Darlene Roy, Debbie Roy, Sandra Roy.
