In January for
Tri County People
Kitchen planning workshops
for residents of Marion, Yam
hill, and Polk counties are
scheduled to begin in January,
according to Ermina Fisher,
Marion
County
Extension
Agent. This series is composed
of four evening meetings
planned for families planned
to build or remodel. Archi
tects, cabindlmen, -builders,
and others involved in the
housing industry are encourag
ed to attend.
Similar workshops
have
been held for several years
men as women in attendance.
Last year a member of a real
estate firm attended because
she felt it would assist in sell
ing older homes if she could
suggest ways to improve an
outdated kitchen.
Included in the series will
be selection and arrangement
of equipment, traffic patterns,
counter and storage require
ments, as well as lighting and
selection of floor covering and
counter tops. Assisting Miss
Fisher will be Miss Linda
Qualls, PGS Lighting Consult
ant; Miss Bernice Strawn, Ex
tension Home Management
Specialist, OSU; and a factory
representative of a floor com
pany.
The workshops will be held:
Marion County—730 p. m.,
January 13, 20, 27, and Febru
ary 3.
Yamhill County—730 p. m.,
January 14, 21, 28, and Febru
ary 4.
Anyone planning to attend
either of these workshops is
asked to register by calling one
of the County Extension of
fices.
Marion County 364-4401, ex
tension 64.
Polk County 623-8171, exten
sion 56.
Yamhill County 472-5161, ex
tension 251.
