Others traveled to various valley towns to be with their famil ies and friends. Ed Slayden and Red Crist took advantage of the Holidays to go bird hunting in Central Oregon, also going were Mr. and Mrs. Gale Fagan. All re turned home Sunday night. Idanha’s population was in creased by two with the recent birth of twins to Mr. and Mrs. Charles James. The little girls have been named Sherry Ann and Cheryl Ann. Mother and babies arriv ed home from the hospital last week. Mrs. Otto Oja drove to Long view Tuesday to bring her husband home from the hospi tal. Mr. Oja was hospitalized about three weeks ago follow ing a logging accident In which his leg was broken. Holiday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tow ers and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Storey were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Storey of Forest Grove. Detroit will play Mohawk there Friday at 6:30 P. M. in » unum the season’s first basketball game. On Tuesday Dec. 10th the Cougars will play Colton there at 6:30 p.m. Holiday dinner guests at the Detroit home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson, Jr. and children, Gregory, Douglas and daughter Shelly of Port land, and Mr. and Mrs. Ole Erickson of Mill City. Mabel Poncia, Pearl Giebeler and Kenneth Harris of Detroit joined other guests at the home of Mrs. Poncias daughter, Mrs. Laura Seaburg, Eugene, for the holiday observance. Among those entertaining with a family gathering were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brosig of De troit whose guests were, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Brosig and family of Silverton, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Parker and son James, Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Gor don Cave and family, Salem, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Brosig and family of Mill City. The Lake Lodge was the set ting for some forty dinner guests, and employes o n Thanksgiving Day. Spending the Holiday here at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, the Walter Dew hursts was Mrs. Myrtle Mark of Klamath Falls. She left Sunday for her home. Miss Sharon Louise Voll- man, 19, of Willamina, who lost her life in an auto accident Friday, was the niece of Mrs. Theo Houck of Idanha and Mrs. Thelma Storey and Earl Lady of Detroit. Services were held Tuesday in Willamina Christian church with interment in Evergreer Memorial Park, McMinnville. The Detroit High Schoo’ Chorus will present several se lections tonight (Thursday) un der the supervision of Miss Margaret Minden, at the reg ular meeting of the Deanh? PTC meeting. The meeting wil’ be held in the library of thf Elementary school at 7:30 p.m Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Leming and son Tommy of Idanhr drove to Sheldon, Wash. Fri day where they visited with the Charlie Cannon’s and dau ghter Brenda. Word was received here Sat urday that the Joe Muise’s planned to leave Oceanside, Calif., Monday of this week. However, they plan to take it easy on the r I urn trip home Mr. Muise was hospitalized with a heart/attack. The Home Extension Unit has scheduled Monday, Dec ember 9th for their annual Christmas party. The 7:30 p.m. event will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boeck- stiegel. There will be an ex change of gifts, and bingo will set the stage or the entertain ment. The Woman’s Mission Socie ty of the Idanha Communnity church will hold their annual Christmas auction Dec. 12th at 7:30 p. m. in the social room of the Idanha Fire Hall. The event will feature hand made articles, candy and baked foods. Mrs. Barbara Whiteley will be hostess. On December 15th the Idan ha home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Williamson will be the setting for the adult Christmas party for members of the Idanha Community Church. The Willing Workers Club has scheduled December 20th for their annual Christmas turkey dinner and party to be held in the social room of the Idanha Fire Hall. The event will Include the members’ hus bands. The Idanha Community church has set December 22nd for their annual Christmas pro gram which will include a play The program will begin at 730 P.M. On December 31st an old-fashioned “watch night ser vice” will be held at the church at 930 p.m. A candlelight communion service Is also scheduled for January 5th at the church at 730 p. m. U. S. Forest Service person nel of the Detroit Ranger Sta tion has scheduled December 21st for their annual Christmas party. The event will be held at the Woman’s Club House at Gates. The American Legion and Auxiliary, Idanha Poet 141, will hold their annual pot-tuck lun cheon and Bingo party Decem ber 14th at 7:30 P. M. in the social room of the Idanha fire hall.
