3—The Mill City Enterprise, Thursday, Nov. 14, 1968 Evangelistic Meetings Slated at Idanha Mrs. Harold Wilson drove to Aurora to visit the Duncan Antique Shop. They found it very interesting. Rosalee Smith from San Francisco is now visiting at the h me of Mr. and Mrs. Gien Henness. Mrs. Smith is a form er resident of Gates and has l>een visiting a number of her friends in this area. On Satur day, Mr. and Mrs. Henness and Mrs. Smith went to Portland and visited with a cousin of Mrs. Smith and they also visit ed with Earl Henness and fam ily. The Earl Henness family visited at the home of his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hen ness on Sunday. Nellie Allen and June Bark er took a business trip to Sal em on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lake spent Friday evening at the home of their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lake, Jr. in Olympia, Wash. They spent the remainder of the week in Seattle as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Davidson. He is a former pastor of the Mill City Free Methodist Church. The event will begin Sunday, November 17 starting at 7 p. m. and continue through November 22. Rev. Harold Roth is pastor of the church. Over a period of years the Freemans have gathered some $3,000 worth of visual aid equipment including still and motion pictures, professional magic for object lessons, scenic o’felts, colored chalk draw ings and many ether items. Educators say that 75 percent of all we know enters through the eye gate and only 13 percent through the ear-gate. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oliver and Mrs. Clyde Oliver recently spent a couple days at Astoria and Seaside, Bob remained there and the two ladies re turned alone. Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Oliver were her daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Ol iver and two grandsons, Jim and Bill from Sherwood, their son John had gone deer hunt ing. The Santiam Canyon Home Extension will meet on Novem ber 14 at 10 a.m. at the Gates Community Center. Sunday visiters at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brisbin were Mrs. Brisbin’s grandson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken ny Hayward and baby from Portland. New renters of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brisbin are Mrs. Horn er and two children. Mrs. Hor ner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Extry Sarff. Mrs. Rubie Stubbs visited with her two daughters, Shary and Mary in Portland on Sat urday. They are attending a business college there. Clare Henness hunted for ne week in the Wallowa Mountain area and returned home with a nice 6 point elk, hunting with him were Lyle Olsen, Lyle Driver, and Don Marshall, all from Wamic area. Mrs. Rubie Stubbs recently flew to Denver by jet to visit her sister Mrs. Cliff'rd Upson, who has been ill. Mrs. Stubbs got to visit with her other sisters also who were there from Nebraska. Mrs. Lang Stafford was a recent guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lou is Myers of Elkhorn, on a sight seeing trip to the game refuge at the Deschutes National For est. They saw 15 deer on their trip. Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Lang Stafford were Chuck Barnes and Nellie Allen. Mrs. Louis Kelle fell the oth er day and broke her left wrist and has a cast on it up above her elbow. Mrs. Velma Carey is still at the Kelle home car ing for her. Mr. Kelle is still in the hospital recuperating I from pneumonia and recent surgery, he should be out of intensive care in a few days. Mrs. Kelle’s son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mills visited with her on Sun day. Mrs. Ellen Rust and June Barker attended the annual Saint Patricks chicken dinner in Lyons on Sunday. Mrs. Harold Wilson called on Mrs. Alice Watson of Mill City on Saturday afternoon She re ported that Mrs. Watson is recuperating fine from her re cent stroke. After voting on election day, Mrs. Kaye CoL ■ burn, Nellie Allen, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Easom oi North Bend visited a short time on Nov. 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Smith when she was on her way home from Portland. Mrs. James Richmond was hostess at her home Sunday, Nov. 3 for a dinner honoring her daughter on her 13th birth day. The dinner also honored Mrs. Richmonds nephew, Dar rell Tietze of Stayton who left for the service the first of the week. Present for the party were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Tiet ze, Lori and Darrell and John Metheny all of Stayton, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Tietze and three children of Beaverton, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Tietze and Mrs. Richmond, Barbara, Pam and Tony. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ander son of Mill City were Friday evening guests at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Art Anderson. The Rev. John Phillips of Portland was guest speaker at the morning services of the Mehama Community Presby terian Church Sunday, Nov. 10 A pot luck dinner was held in the Fellowship room fol lowing the services and later Mr. Phillips showed some of the pictures he had taken when he spent several months as an exchange minister in New Zea land. Mrs. James Richmond was taken to Santiam Memorial hospital Tuesday afternoon when she collapsed at her home after being stung by a *-1 NOW bee on the back of her neck. She remained at the hospital Tuesday night and returned home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. C- M. Cooper returned home Saturday after noon, Nov. 9 from a two weeks hunting trip in the Desolation area in Eastern Oregon. Guests Sunday, Nov. 10 at the home cf Mr. and Mrs. Har ry Monroe were her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Max Montgomery of Spring field and an aunt, Mrs. Ruth Barr of Tacoma, Wash. Mrs. M. V. Frame visited two days last week at the Or- val Greer home at Leaburg.
