The minimum acceptable bid per thousand board feet is: Douglas-fir logs and peeler blocks, $43.29; Douglas-fir spe cial cull logs and blocks, $2.55; Western Hemlock and other coniferous species $33.69. Douglas-fir special cull logs and blocks will be sold at a fixed rate. In addition there is within the sale area an estimated 74 acres of all species of sub standard logs because of defect which the bidder may elect to purchase at $2.50 per acre. Blds may be submitted for either the standard timber alone or for the standard tim ber and substandard timber, the award to be made on the basis of the total return to the U. S. under the terms of the bid. The substandard timber, if included in the bid, will be sold at the advertised rate. Location of the proposed sale is 10 miles east of Detroit up the Breitenbush road. Summer Home Salvage Sale The Summer Home Salvage Timber sale with an estimated 970,000 board feet of federal timber is scheduled for auction November 4 at 10 a. m. This sale involves 450 Mbf of Douglas-fir and peeler blocks; an unestimated amount of Douglas-for special cull logs and blocks; 200 M Western Hemlock and other coniferous species logs; 230 M Pine logs, and 90 M of Cedar logs. For futher details on the sale con tact the Detroit Ranger station. In addition there is within the sale area an estimated 168 acres of all species of logs, substandard because of defect which the bidder may elect to purchase at $2.50 per acre. Purpose of the sale is for the removal of all downed, dead and dying timber in the sum mer home addition.
