In our story on page two about Jill Girod’s birthday party, The Enterprise inad vertently left out the name of her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wodtly of Stayton. We are sorry this happened. Three hoiih , a son-in-law and a grandson Of Mrs. G. O. Hutchinson recently had a “roofing party”, all getting to gether one Sunday to put a roof on her large house. Sons working were Eldon, Adell and Herbert Hutchinson, son- in-law. Don Hurst and grand son, Dean Hutchinson. Mrs. Eldon Hutchinson and Mrs. Herbert Hutchinson prepared dinner for the .men and other relatives that were present. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Berry and family of Susanville, Calif., were visitors most of last week at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lake. During the week, the Berrys took their son Robert to Ft. Lewis, Wash., where he left for Viet nam. Mrs. Vine Matheny return ed to Portland Saturday fol lowing a two weeks visit at the home of her brother-in- law and sister, the James Swans. Mrs. Matheny made the trip down and back with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Neisz, also of Portland, who traveled through eastern Oregon and California while she was in Mill City. Recent houseguests at the Francis Bodeker home were her uncle, Wally Burke and his son Damon of San Francis co. The Burkes are vacation ing through Oregon and Washington. Both coup les attended the Detroit High School reunion at Breitenbush Hot Springs Saturday. Clyde E. Rogers is recover ing at home from a recent at tack which caused him to be hospitalized for six days. Mrs. Rogers says he is getting along fine now, but on a rath er strict diet. Frank Smith of Forest Grove, accompanied by his grandson, Harold Miller of Salem, and Charles Kelly spent the week end on a fish ing trip to Wickiup Reservoir, but had very poor luck. Rev. and Mrs. Dick Cole and family, formerly of the Presbyterian Church here but now at Bellingham, Wash., spent the week end at the Mel Eide home and visiting other friends, attending services at the church Sunday morning. The Coles were returning from a trip to Los Angeles where they visited their par ents. Mrs. Cole’s father, Alan Olds, who is well-known here, is recovering from major sur gery. Accompanying the fam ily back to Bellingham as the guest of Marilyn Cole was Nancy Lalack whose mother, Mrs. Joe Lalack, plans to drive up after her this week end. ReMine Home Mrs. Shields ReMine and Mrs. Carl Kelly entertained with a luncheon Tuesday af ternoon at the ReMine home. The guest of honor was Mrs. Nevart Levon of San Fran cisco who is visiting at the home of her son and daughter- in-law, the Robert Levons of Gates. The luncheon was served outdoors on the deck over looking the river. Mrs. Levon was presented with colored snapshots of the group taken by Mrs. Remine during the af ternoon. Those attending, in addition to the guest of honor and the hostesses, were Mrs. Robert Levon, Mrs. Bob Hill, Mrs. James Budlong, Mrs. John Wills, Mrs. Mel Eide, Mrs. Charles Kelly and Mrs. Blanche Kelly of Salem, who assisted the hostesses. Bicycle Safety Course at Detroit Is Completed DETROIT—A bicycle safe ty course was held as part of the summer recreation pro gram recently at Detroit school. Seventeen children were enrolled and have suc cessfully completed the course. The children were in structed on safe riding habits and about the Oregon State Laws governing the riding of bicycles. Reading materials were given to the children to study, and movies about bi cycle safety were shonw. Following tests covering the reading material the children had to show their skill and understanding of the rules of the i-oad by riding their bicycles over an ob stacle course. They were awarded with certificates upon completion of the course. More activities and art pro jects are planned for the sum mer program. Attendance has been good so far. Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Yan- kus are announcing the en gagement of their daughter Rozillah Ann to Mr. James Kirk Bryan, the son of Mr. J. K. Bryan of Portland. The couple plan an August 24th wedding.
