Young People’s Service. 7 p. m. Evening Worship. There were 176,938 traffic violation convictions reported to the Department of Motor Vehicles by Oregon courts dur ing the first half of this year. That’s 3,248 more than for the same period last year. The department also report ed that it suspended 24,629 driver licenses for varying periods of time during the first six months of the year. Reasons for suspension in cluded: failure to maintain proof of financial responsibi lity, 4,453; driving while in toxicated, 2,973; attempting to elude a police officer, 306; fail ure to report an accident, 1,- 329; failure to provide requir ed security deposits, 1,262; re fusal to submit to a breath test, 332; bad driving record. 729; and recommendation of court, 648. In addition, 4,008 people re ceived an additional one year suspension for driving on an already suspended driver’s li cense. The agency also reinstated 10,368 driver licenses after suspension periods expired or the individuals complied with requirements of the law. LORETTA CHRISTENSEN AUMSVILLE—Miss Loretta Eileen Christensen, 21, 4454 Lancaster Drive SE, died Sat urday at a farm operated by her father, Dean Christensen, three miles southwest of West Stayton. She had been riding a horse, and collapsed after she got off, the family said. An autopsy is pending Miss Christensen was born at Mill City and lived at Aums ville most of her life. She moved to Salem about two months ago. She has been a key-punch operator for the Labor and Industry Depart ment, State of Oregon, for two years. She graduated from Cascade Union High School in 1963, and attended Salem Business College later the same year. Survivors Include the par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Christensen, Aumsville; sisters Ellen and Linda, at home, and Mrs. Dorothy Day, Portland. Arrangements are in charge of Weddle mortuary. Stayton.
