Local residents who are in

calling 897-2769. The main
function of this group is to
form trail-rides and outings,
of interest to all. With the
growing number of horses
and riders seen around the
area, this could become a
large organization.

Mount Peak Outlaws
Are Active Group
GATES—For those not a-
ware, there has been an ac
tive 4-H group, in this area,
called the Mount Peak Out
laws. This group ride horses,
learns to care for them in
the proper manner, and en
ter them in shows and spec
ial events. Their leader is
Ruth Hurst of Mill City.
They have been invited to.
and participated in horse
shows such as the one recent
ly attended at Glendale Acres
last month. The show was de
signed to give all 4-H mem
bers some show practice for
oncoming shows that are
scheduled.
Local participants were;
Jackie Evans, Paula Evans,
Susan Dorothy, Pat Howell,
Karen Howell, Melana Ash
er, Jeri-Jo Parker, and Toni
Newberg. Placing in events
with many other contestants
were; Susan Dorothy, Jackie
Evans and Pat Howell. This
was for Western Pleasure
Class. This was their first
show and workout in an in
side areana, and Mrs. Hurst
reported that the girls, and
the horses did real well. They
will have another indoor
practice June the 27th, at
Glendale Acres, near Salem.
Those interested may attend.
The Mount Peak Outlaws
4-H Club have been working
and planning on a special
number for the 4th of July
Parade in Mill City.
There Is one girl in the
group who plans on going to
the State Fair to exhibit her
horsemanship, that is Jackie
Evans, of Gates. In order to
qualify for State Fair Exhi
bition, all work records, pro
ject work and good attend
ance records must be kept up
correctly. There is talk that
another girl will make the
