School District No. 29J Notice is hereby given in compliance with ORS 294.401 that a meeting of the budget committee will be held in School District No. 29J. Linn Counyt, Oregon on Monday, the 10th day of June, 1968, at 8 00 o’clock P. M., Pacific Daylight Saving Time, at the Mari-Linn School within said district, located at Lyons, Oregon, at which time the budget message and the bud get document will be submit ted to the budget committee for their consideration. Legal voters of the district This matter comes bafore the Marion County Board of Commissioners upon the peti tion of Martin E. Jepsen, et al, for annexation of certain de scribed real property to the Mill City Rural Fire Protec tion District; and IT APPEARING to the Board that a proper petition for annexation to said fire protection district having been filed with the Board; and pur suant to said petition a public hearing was ordered to be held on the 26th day of April, 1968, and that notice of said public hearing was published in the Mill City Enterprise, a newspaper of general circula tion in Marion County; and IT APPEARING that on April 26, 1968, at 10:00 A. M„> in the Hearing Room of the Marion County Board of Com missioners, a public hearing was held, prior notice thereof having been given, and that at said public hearing all inter ested persons having been giv en an opportunity to speak in favor of or in opposition to said annexation to said fire protection district, and no ob jection to annexation to said district being heard; and IT APPEARING that the proposed annexation will en compass the following des cribed property, to wit: Beginning on the North bank of the North Santiam River at the North and South centerline of Section 30 in Township 9 South, Range 3 East of the Willam ette Meridian, and thence westerly along said river bank to the North and South center line of Sec- j tion 21, Township 9 South, ( Range 2 East, thence North along said center line of Section 21 and Section 16 of Township 9 South, Range 2 East to the center line of Marion County Road No. 962; thence in a southeaster ly direction to the center point of the intersection of County Road No. 963; thence in an easterly direction along the center line of said road; thence in a southerly direction along the center line of said road to the point where said road intersects with the East and West cen ter line of Section 29, Town ship 9 South, Range 3 East, and thence West to the cen ter of Section 30, Township 9 South, Range 3 East; thence North 9.25 chains; thence West 5.50 chains; thence South 20.50 chains; thence East 2.05 chains; thence South 69° 10’ East 3.39 chains to an iron pipe; thence East 0.275 chains to the North and South center line through said Section 30; thence South to the point of beginning; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that an election shall be held in the Mill City Rural Fire Protec tion District and within the boundaries of that area sought to be annexed to said district and that said election shall be on the 28th day of May, 1968, for the purpose of sub mitting the question of an nexation to the voters of those areas. IT IS FURTHER ORDER ED that the polling places for said election shall be the same as the polling places for the May 28, 1968, Oregon State primary election to be held in the precincts within the boundaries of the Mill City Rural Fire Protection District and that area sought to be annexed thereto. Miss Barbara Roten student at the Pudget Sound College of the Bible in Seattle spent the Mothers Day weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Roten. Mrs. Emery Sledge is visit ing at the home of her daugh ter Mr. and Mrs. Barton Sledge. She is from Broad acres near Woodburn. Mrs. Milton Low from Spo kane was a recent visitor at the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Low and family, she also visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Butler and her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shull. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hobben- siefken of Salem spent sever al days at the home of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Pederson and family. 9—The Mill City Enter prise Thurhduy, May 23, 1968 Lyons Women Plan For Clean-up Day LYONS—Mrs. James Hol lingshead and Mrs. Paul Pen nington were hostesses for the meeting of the Womens So ciety of Christian Service held in the fire place room of the Lyons Methodist church Tues day afternoon. May 14, Mrs. Lenard Cruson, vice-president presided over the meeting due to the absence of Mrs. Ethel Huffman president, with Mrs. Glenn Julian secretary. Var ious plans were discussed and plans made for the meeting in June to be a clean up day at the parsonage. This will be the last meet ing until they resume again in September at that the new officers will be installed. A good report was also heard from those who attended the annual conference of the Wo mens Society of Christian Ser vice held in Salem. Present for the meeting Tuesday were Mmes. E. L. Roye, Alex Bode- ker, Glen Julian, Lenard Cru son, Clyde Bressler, Miss Lula Cory and the hostesses Mrs. Hollingshead and Mrs. Penn ington. 4-H Clubs Display Handicrafts at Fair LYONS—Mrs. Donald Hub er and Mrs. Elwin Pederson took their group of Colorful Sewing and Knitting girls to Albany Wednesday night to have their dresses judged at the 4-H fair at the Fair grounds. All the girls won blue ribbons. Girls going were Bertha Wilson, Sue Frichtel Sandra Kuhn, Becky Lambert, Susan and Nancy Dougal. They were accompanied by their mothers, Mrs. Freda Wilson, Mrs. Jean Kuhn, Mrs. Joyce Lambert and Mrs. Alice Dougal. Mrs. Robert James, Mrs. Harold Hawthorne and Mrs. Eldon Gilson, leaders of group one of the Colorful Sewing and Knitting club took their exhibits to Albany Wednes day afternoon for display.
