The Gallup people learned that 52% of the people heating with electricity rate it “economical.” Only 41% of the people with gas heating systems said their costs were "economical,” and oil systems got the same rating. Northwest findings agree A recent comparative study of 300 Oregon and Washington homes “Electric heat’s clean, safe, comfortable” The Gallup Study didn't stop with economy. Here's what else was learned about electric heat: 76% of the electric heat users gave it a “clean” rating, cdmpared with 53% for gas and 50% for oil. And 75% of those with electric heat rated it as “comfortable” compared with only 66% for oil heat and 59% for gas. Nearly two thirds of the people with electric heat ra'ed it “safe,” against less than half of those with flame-type heat systems. Electric heat was clearly the preference of those who know it best-the people who use electricity to heat their homes!
