dal shower for Mrs. Joe Whit­
ney (Cindy Lochrem) at the
Cox home last week.

and the color scheme of lav-

used. Refreshments were serv­
ed by the hostesses later in
the evening.
Those attending were Ger­

ins, Diane Metteer, Rita Whit­
ney, Rosie Whitney, Marge
Ruby, Shirley Stone, Mrs. Bill
Whitney and Mrs. Roy Loch­
rem.

bers of the Round Robin pin­

Garden club at her home Wed­
nesday afternoon, April 10.
Program of the afternoon was

and garden”, by Mrs. Otto
Weidman and Mrs. Glen Jul­
ian, Mrs. Weidman also gave
an interesting talk on the cul­
ture and care of Zinnias. Each
member brought their origin­
al cover for the year book.
They were judged and winn­
ing prizes were Kathy Neal
first and Mrs. Charles Cruson
second. Mrs. Arthur Olmstead
and Mrs. Gladys Nygaard won

Lyons Pre-School
Mothers to Have
Night Out
The Lyons Pre-school Moth­
ers will have a “night out”
on Friday evening April 26,
according to Mrs. Delores
Stavang.
All past, present and those
that will be pre-school moth­
ers next fall, are invited to
attend. The women are ask­
ed to meet at Mari-Linn school
at 6:30 and will then go to a
Salem restuarant for dinner.
Anyone wishing more infor­

casion. Mrs. Bickel was un­
able to be present for the day
but sent greetings to her par­
ents and an arrangement of
golden hued flowers.
The serving table was cen­
tered with a three tiered an­
niversary cake flanked by
bouquets of white and gold
chrysanthemums and golden
candles.
On display at the reception
was the bridal gown worn by
Mrs. Jones, it was made of
white silk trimmed with sil­
ver lace. Also displaved were
pictures taken in earlier days.
Ferd Jones and Ada Lathm
were married April 5, 1918 at
the United Brethren Church
at Hazel Green. Oregon. They
met while attending Philo­
math college and just one
month after the wedding Mr.
Jones was sent with World
War I troops to France.
His first job was at Gates
where he was principal of the
schools from 1923 until 1937.
He took an administrative
post at Gold Hill in 1944. In
1951 he took the position of
Citv recorder at Gold Hill, a
position he still holds.
The counle is active in many
community and church af­
fairs.
