This is the only money-mak ing event for the year for the fire laddies and the usual large crowd is expected again this year. Detroit Postoffice Nears Completion DETROIT — Ralph Robert son, regional real estate of ficer for the U. S. Post Office Dept., said Monday, as soon as equipment is installed De- trolts new Post Office will be put into operation, hopefully before Christmas. He added, if it arrives within the next several weeks, operations will be shifted before Christmas, but If it gets to close to the holiday rush season, the transfer will wait until after the first of the year. The building is complete except for the installation of the equipment due here from Eastern suppliers. It will probably take about two weeks to Install, he said. Completion of the building was noted about a month ago, and things have been at a stand still since that time. Adult Library Classes To Start Monday Next Monday, November 20 there will be an adult class at the library at Santiam High school when friends and parents may see first hand how the new library program and audio-visual equipment works. The young people at the school have been using the equipment for some time and it is now available for adults. The classes will operate from 7:30 until 9:30 so that most of the film strips may be viewed at the school; how- ever they may be checked out. There is also a wide selec- tion of books which may be read during the Monday even ing periods. It is planned that these adult class periods will continue for some time depending on community re- sponse.
