Wolverine Cubs Defeat Scio Team The Wolverine Cubs posted a victory in the first contest of the year against Scio’s Loggers. Doug Cline led the scoring with two TDs and one extra point. The other Wolverine six pointer was added by the fine running of Howard Lyness. The Cubs defense led by Dave Ruby, Tom Rush and Lynn Cutsforth held the Scio ground attack to less than 30 yards. Scio’s passing gave the Cubs a bad time for three quarters and led to their only score with 15 seconds left in the first half. All of the Cubs saw action during the game and show promise of at least three more years of Wolverine foot ball power.
