Deadline for re ceipt of applications is 5 p. m., August 23. Hunters are advised that applications, to be eligible, be received by the Game Commission at its Portland headquarters by the dead line. Upstate hunters should take note of this require-i ment and mail their applica tion well in advance of this deadline so they will reach the Portland office in time. Applications for elk per mits are obtained with the purchase of the general sea son elk tag and must bear the identical serial number. Hunters interested should fill out the application according to instructions and mail the application • in an envelope. Party applications up to two in number will be accepted. Party applications are re minded to mark the party box and fasten the applica tions together.
