PP&L Office Has
Another Break-in
The Pacific Power and
Light office in Stayton was
entered for the second time
in three weeks early Monday
morning.
The new office safe which
had been purchased after the
last time it was burglarized,
was again smashed up. The
hinges had been sawed off,
the sides peeled and mech
anism fouled up.
Mrs. Lee Bassett, who
works in the office, said it
was noon before they could
get the safe open to get the
money out. No receipts were
taken in this attempted rob
bery as the prowlers were
evidently scared away be
fore they completed their
job.
Three weeks ago a consid
erable amount of cash and
some checks were taken.

six years ago and a consider
able amount of cash taken.
State police and the Mar

in.

She is a beginner in the
painting field but her pic

and the subjects eye-catch

of her paintings at Tthe En

ago and she said these were
sold before she could even
get them up at the showing
Mrs. Hirte said she receiv
