This partly-finished A-frame building, located on the banks of the Santiam river near the city center would make a good community center and the Jaycees hope to use it for this purpose when completed. Any organization wishing to use it, may do so. The group GATES hopes that other clubs will get behind their drive to raise money. N. Hughes, I Keith, Jana and Marc return ed home July 9 from a two weeks vacation trip where they visited with relatives and friends in Austin, Texas and spent some time at the Grand Canyon, the Petrified forest and many other places of interest both going and coming on the way home. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murphy and children returned from their two weeks vacation trip July 14. They visited rela tives in Colorado and several places and brought back a nice collection of cactus plants. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Cooper July 11 were her brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cummins of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Don Engdahl (Susan Teeters) and five children arrived from Califor nia July 15 for a few days visit with relatives here. The Engdahls have just recent ly moved to their new home between Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Chris McDon ald of Glide were guests July 15 and 16 at the home of their daughters families the Harold Longfellows and Donald Teet ers. Sunday dinner guests at the Teeters home were Mr. and Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Blanche McDonald of Salem, Mrs. Don Stensland and son Ted of Independence.
