He won on a 230-foot javelin toss. A guest Friday to Sunday at the Bill Gabriel home was his brother. Gerry Gabriel of South Beach. Bill and Gerry and little Bill, with Bud John son and Dale of Mehama en joyed some really good fish ing at Lost Lake. Mrs. Gabriel said holes had to be cut through several feet of ice before they could fish. The Gabriel family and Gerry fished Sunday at Hoover Falls, but didn’t have such good luck again. Kim Gabriel was the over night guest Friday of Jerry Hutchinson of Mill City. Mrs. Deloris Scharff was hostess for a home products party at her home Wednes day afternoon. A benefit kitchen and lin en shower will be held Mon day, May 1 at the home of Mrs. Wayne Wright on De troit Ave., for Mrs. Gilbert Warner. Co-hostesses are Phyllis Wright and Dottie Jones. Open house for the shower is from 10 a. m. on for interested persons and re freshments will be served. Carl Anderson of Salem broke his own record fishing opening day in Detroit Lake. He had his limit by 7:30 a. m. all 11 to 12 inches. Last year he had his limit by 9:30 a. m. and had his picture in the newspaper. Mr. and Mrs. Buss Lee of Idanha moved to Redmond last week. Santiam Ripples By Peggy Cooper Twelve cheerleader elec tions were held Friday, April 21 at Santiam High. Twelve girls tried out for cheerlead ing positions this year. Out of the 12, the following four were chosen: Vicki Rush, jun ior; Susan Dueber, junior; Debbie Chance, sophomore, and Donalee Walker, sopho more. Class meetings were held on Friday, during activity period. The seniors voted on their class motto, class flow er, and class colors.
