The ladies of the Mill City Christian Church will hold a meeting at the church on Thursday evening, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a program and all ladies in town are most cordially In vited to attend. Visiting from Friday until Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Chudzinski were their long time friends Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Richard son of Bend and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Echardt of Novato, Cal ifornia. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bassett took their new camper last weekend and met Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stover and family of Pasco, Wn., near Beacon Rock, Wn. They fished in the Columbia in near perfect weather. Mrs. Bassett said they didn’t get many fish but had a real good time. The Stovers are former Mill City residents. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Park er and daughters who recent ly lost their home by fire have moved into the "Pink” Mason home. Calling at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Shaw one day last week was Mrs. Mrytle Phillips of Carmichael, California. Mrs. Phillips and her late husband, Clifford, were residents of Mill City for many years. Ted Malone, who operated Haleys' Drive-In before mov ing to Salem, has purchased a like business at Sweet Home. He was in Mill City this week transacting busi ness. While there they took advantage of two minus tides and soon all had their limits of razor clams. Mr. and Mrs. Lou's Weis- inger of Ontonagon, Mich., who had been visting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Swartz, were called home un expectedly by illness in the family. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ver beck and family of Tangent spent Saturday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Verbeck. Accompany ing them was their friend, Miss Sharon Smith of Lake Oswego. She is a daughter of Mrs. Clark who was unable to make the trip because of poor health. Visiting at the Clark home this week was their granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Irwin of Sheridan. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Peck were visited by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heintzelman of Ta- huya, Washington, on Wed nesday and Thursday of last week. Mill City greeted them with wonderful weather which they enjoyed very much after the sandstorms of Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Mowry and son, James, were dinner guests Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Peck. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Garton, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Metteer, Mrs. Steve Chudzinski, Mrs. Charlie French, Mrs. Veryl Hoover, Mrs. Don Carlson, Mrs. Cecil Lake, and Mrs. Lowell Cree attended Sweet Home Chapter OES at Sweet Home last Wednesday night.
