Santiam Ripples By Peggy Cooper During the Student Coun cil meeting Tuesday, March 7, the pins that will be given to each member were select ed. The group voted on Boy and Girl of the month for February and then went on to the business of passing ac tivity sheets. A lot of activi ties were scheduled for the coming months, among them a handicap basketball game on March 24, sponsored by GAA with a dance after which is being put on by Var sity “S.” The band and chor us had an activity sheet pass ed for a car wash to be held March 25. Two dances were also planned, one for April 14, by Drama club and the annual Freshman - Eighth Grade dance for May 12. Sen iors have decided to have a bottle drive April 1 and the last activity was an Inter class Tiack Meet to be held April 5. Varsity S is sponsor ing the meet. On March 8, Honor Society held their induction for new members. Seven students were taken into the club: Seniors, Patti Eastwood and Lorena Harmon; Juniors, Mark Bennett, Peggy Cooper, Terry Hansen, Kathy Rose, and Vicki Rush. Fred Gruver Honor Society advisor and Burton Boioughs gave short speeches and Honor Society members, Sandy Cooper, Ka thy Story, Alan Yankus, and Nancy Cogar gave talks on Leadership, Character, Serv ice, and Scholarship.
