Fourth Hospital Story Tells
Need for a Family Doctor
been greatly
simplified. Many things have
changed the physician’s work
ing problems.
Ease of communication has
made it possible for the pa
tient to be under the doctor’s
care long before he actually
sees him. Ease of transporta
tion makes it possible for the
patient to be brought to the
treatment center where all
the technical facilities can be
concentrated on his cure,
rather than his having to rely
on the contents of the revered
and famous “little black bag.”
In using the facilities made
available to him in the com
munity hospital, the doctor is
ever aware of the needs of
his patients, and of current
changes in accomodations and
equipment. He is constantly
alert to possible improve
ments in the professional
work of the hospital, and he
is unhesitatingly vocal in
making his recommendations
known to the administrator
and the directors on the hos
pital board.
The doctor makes use of
every available technical ad-
vantage in the care of his
patient. He can, and does, care
for many more people than
he used to, his patients get
well sooner, and enjoy better
health longer.
